In an ongoing discussion on CKDP the fact that we do not blow our own horn about Chatham-Kent has raised its head again.

I know Rob is thinking about a discussion group on the subject, but in the meantime I thought I would ask everyone to tell the world about the GREAT things that are happening here right now.

To start the ball rolling I thought I would tell you about what happened to me yesterday in my role as a volunteer driver for the CHAP Programme. I was driving a person from the municipality for an hospital appointment who is recovering well from a vehicle accident, but who is temporarily confined to a wheelchair. That person has the greatest access ramp I have ever seen. It is modular and produced right here in the municipality.

I invite you to do two things, firstly take a look at their website at:

    http://qramp.com/about-q-ramp/about-the-company/

And secondly, tell everyone about the good news that you are aware of, that no one else seems to know about.

And remember. Most things have an economic spin-off.

Do you know about the Family Services Kent CHAP programme? Amongst other things CHAP has 200 volunteer drivers doing 2500 drives per month. They take seniors and others to doctor, hospital and other medical appointments in C-K and to London, Windsor and Sarnia. Financial assistance may be available. They can even take you shopping or to your beautician. You do not have to be a senior, If you have had an accident, or are on disability, CHAP can probably help. Call 519.354.6221 for details.
