The Chatham Kent Community Foundation is a local foundation that helps community groups and individuals make an ongoing difference in this community. Established in 1990, the Foundation is one of 170 community foundations across Canada. Community foundations build endowments and other funds to provide lasting support for local priorities. The income earned by the Foundation’s invested permanent funds is used to give grants to a wide range of community groups while the original investment is retained to grow over time. Grants are given for a range of activities: youth education and development,sports and recreation,environmental activities, performing arts and culture, agriculture.
